The pop genre is probably the most populated genre right now in the music Industry.

Well after upcoming artistes realized the people were not vibing to Rap any longer, they decide to do commercial music or pop.

Over the years, there have been comparisons between Wizkid and 2baba as people have alleged Wizkid is the heir to the 2Baba’s throne. However it got more intense when Wizkid released Ojuelegba in 2014. Released in 2014 off Wizkid’s sophomore album, Ayo, it grew on to be the star track and major attraction on the album.

But little did we know it would be the body of work that will pave the way for Wizkid on the global scene. Drake later hopped on the record and it didn’t take time before foreign celebrities began to vibe to Ojuelegba.

Swizz Beats, Alicia Keys and at some point, Kylie Jenner also danced to Ojuelegba.

Apart from the several awards Ojuelegba won, it is probably the song that paved the way not only for Wizkid but for several Nigerian artistes including Davido who also was seeking international stardom.

Many have named Ojuelegba as the biggest record to have ever come out of Nigeria and even Africa but most times, people disagree alleging 2face’s African Queen is the biggest ever Nigerian record.

Some have termed it disrespect when Ojuelegba or any other pop song is compared to African Queen. It’s rude and people allege Wizkid is an apprentice to 2face when it comes to the pop game.

While we’re not taking it away from 2face about his legendary and evergreen hit that put Nigeria on the map.

2face was even paid $200K for African Queen to be used as the soundtrack for the film; Phat Girlz; which was released internationally.
